Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Understanding Wrinkles & Facial Ageing

As we age, repeated facial movement, changes in skin structure, and reduced collagen production can lead to the appearance of fine lines and deeper-set wrinkles. These lines often appear across the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the brows.
At Gentle Facial Aesthetics, we help clients understand how these natural changes occur and offer guidance on how they can be addressed through safe, non-surgical facial treatments.

What Are Anti-Wrinkle Treatments?

Anti-wrinkle treatments are non-surgical procedures designed to soften the appearance of expression lines, creating a smoother and more refreshed look. They work by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles that cause these dynamic wrinkles, helping to reduce their visibility while maintaining natural facial movement.

Every face is different which is why your treatment plan begins with a one-to-one consultation to discuss your goals, assess your facial movements, and provide expert recommendations.

What Anti-Wrinkle Treatments Can Help With

We commonly support clients with concerns such as:

Facial Lines

Facial lines – such as forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, crow’s feet around the eyes, and vertical lip lines.- naturally form over time due to repeated expressions and reduced skin elasticity. While they’re a normal part of ageing, these lines can sometimes make the face appear tired or tense.

Ideal for:

  • Smoothing forehead lines and creases
  • Softening frown lines (between the brows)
  • Reducing crow’s feet (around the eyes)
  • Minimising vertical lip lines (above the upper lip)

Gummy Smile

A “gummy smile” refers to when a significant amount of gum shows when smiling. For some, this can cause self-consciousness, especially in photos or conversation. Our approach helps relax the upper lip slightly to reduce the appearance of gum show when smiling, while still maintaining a natural and expressive smile.

Ideal for:

  • Reducing excessive gum exposure
  • Creating a more balanced smile
  • Enhancing confidence when smiling

Lip Flip

A lip flip is a subtle enhancement that gently relaxes the muscles around the upper lip. This creates the appearance of fuller lips by allowing the lip to naturally roll outward. It’s ideal for clients who want to enhance their smile without adding volume through filler.

Ideal for:

  • Creating a fuller upper lip appearance
  • Enhancing shape without added volume
  • Supporting subtle lip definition

Before & After

The Consultation Process

Before any anti-wrinkle treatment can be carried out, a 30-minute consultation is required to assess your skin, discuss your concerns, and review whether this approach is suitable for you.
This consultation is available either in person at our Croydon clinic or via secure video call. You’ll have time to ask questions, explore your options, and move forward only if you feel fully confident.

FAQs

Yes. A consultation is required before any treatment can be provided. This 30-minute session allows your practitioner to assess your facial structure, discuss your concerns, and determine whether anti-wrinkle treatments are suitable for you. No treatment is carried out without a full consultation.
These treatments involve precise injections that help reduce the appearance of facial expression lines by relaxing the muscles responsible for them. They’re commonly used in areas such as the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet.
Absolutely. Our goal is to achieve subtle, natural-looking results that refresh your appearance; never to change it. Your facial expressions will remain, but fine lines may appear softened or reduced.
Once your consultation has been completed and a plan is in place, the treatment itself usually takes around 15–20 minutes.
Results typically last between 3–4 months, although this can vary depending on your skin, lifestyle, and the area treated.

There is very little downtime with these non-surgical wrinkle reduction treatments. Most clients return to normal activities shortly after. Your practitioner will provide full aftercare guidance following your appointment.

When delivered by qualified medical practitioners in a clinical setting, anti-wrinkle treatments are considered safe and well-tolerated. That’s why your consultation is so important – to ensure suitability and answer any questions you may have.
